A local news reporter reached out to me a month or two after Jonas died. She asked if she could interview me about mental health and suicide prevention. I declined, mostly because my pain was still too raw. But I committed to let her know about any changes at the high school that might be related to Jonas’s death.
And I did. I sent her a text Jan. 11 saying that the high school band instructors were going to read the same script that Jonas’s friends read at the Powderpuff football fundraiser. I sent her the script and heard back from her about an hour later. “We’re doing it,” she said.
And so Amy, I thank you for making this happen.
